Dubai is set to make a major leap in sustainable mobility as Parkin Company PJSC and charge&go, a subsidiary of Etisalat Services Holding (ESH) under e&, announced a landmark 10-year partnership to roll out 200 ultra-fast direct current (DC) electric vehicle charging stations across the city.

The initiative will begin in October 2025 with the installation of 20 charging stations at high-demand locations, from residential neighborhoods to retail and leisure hubs. Over the following 12 months, the project will scale up to 200 public and private charging points, providing a much-needed boost to Dubai’s growing EV ecosystem of over 40,000 vehicles.

Ultra-Fast Charging in Under 30 Minutes

Unlike traditional alternating current (AC) chargers, the new DC ultra-fast chargers will cut charging times to under 30 minutes. Customers will also enjoy seamless services through Parkin’s mobile app, which offers slot reservations, real-time charging updates, and secure in-app payment options.

A strict “park and charge” protocol will ensure that vehicles occupy charging bays only while actively charging, reducing overstay and misuse of dedicated spaces.

Strategic Push for Green Mobility

The rollout aligns with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, underscoring the emirate’s vision to expand its EV network and accelerate sustainable urban development. By blending technology with convenience, Parkin and e& aim to position Dubai as a global leader in future-ready transport solutions.

Leaders Speak

Commenting on the announcement, Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said:

“This 10-year partnership with charge&go is a clear example of our commitment to providing cleaner, greener tech-driven mobility solutions. It is essential for accelerating EV adoption and expanding the infrastructure needed to achieve Dubai’s sustainable mobility goals.”

Muammar Al Rukhaimi, CEO of Etisalat Services Holding, added:

“Dubai is rewriting the playbook on how big cities can embrace sustainability at scale. This EV rollout ensures quicker charging, superior customer experience, and makes green mobility effortlessly accessible.”

Building Toward a Smarter City

Parkin, which currently manages 212,000 paid parking spaces across Dubai, had earlier signed an MoU with charge&go during GITEX 2024, laying the foundation for this ambitious rollout.

By combining cutting-edge charging technology with Dubai’s extensive parking infrastructure, this project is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the future of sustainable transportation in the region.
