BMW has officially unveiled the all-new iX3, the first production model from its much-anticipated Neue Klasse lineup, marking a significant milestone in the automaker’s transition towards electrification, digitalisation, and sustainability.

The fully electric Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) introduces a fresh design language, sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology, and advanced digital architecture. With a driving range of up to 805 kilometres (WLTP) and ultra-fast charging capabilities of up to 400 kW, the iX3 sets a new benchmark for long-distance electric mobility.

Next-Gen Performance & Technology

The BMW iX3 50 xDrive delivers 469 hp with all-wheel drive, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Its innovative drivetrain combines synchronous and asynchronous electric motors for higher efficiency, while a redesigned high-voltage battery reduces weight and boosts energy density.

BMW also debuts its new “superbrain” electronics architecture, a system of four high-performance computers managing everything from driving dynamics and automation to infotainment. This makes the iX3 a software-defined vehicle, ready for continuous updates and future AI integration.

Design & Interior

The iX3 showcases BMW’s new minimalist yet character-rich design philosophy. At 4.78 metres long, the SAV balances urban presence with aerodynamic efficiency (Cd 0.24). Inside, the BMW Panoramic iDrive offers a wrap-around digital experience, integrating displays, sound, and personalised driving modes. Sustainable materials, including recycled PET fabrics and marine plastics, highlight BMW’s circularity goals.

Charging & Sustainability

At an 800V DC charger, the iX3 can add 372 km of range in just 10 minutes, with a 10–80% charge completed in 21 minutes. Bidirectional charging allows the car to act as a power source, supporting vehicle-to-grid and vehicle-to-home applications. Over its life cycle, the iX3’s carbon footprint is reduced by 34% compared to its predecessor.

Global Launch

Production begins at BMW’s new plant in Debrecen, Hungary, with European deliveries starting in spring 2026 and U.S. rollout in summer 2026. A China-specific variant will also be produced at BMW’s Shenyang facility.

The iX3 is the first of 40 Neue Klasse models and updates planned by 2027, setting the stage for BMW’s next generation of electric, digital, and sustainable mobility.
