According to Starlink, the Satellite internet service by Elon Musk announced on its official website that it’s going through a service outage.  The official announcement was “Starlink is currently experiencing a service outage. Our team is investigating.”

It was reported that Downdetector, an outage tracking website, marked over 43,000 users were hit by the service outage in the United States as of 12.35 am EST (0435 GMT).

Elon Musk’s SpaceX company, which is a service provider of Starlink, is offering internet services through a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit and has been utilized in remote locations and also in war-torn regions worldwide.

The outage did not just affect North America, but Users in various parts of the world, such as Europe and Ukraine, reported a complete loss of service. The armed forces of Ukraine, whose frontline communications are largely dependent on Starlink, affirmed that connectivity was disrupted across the country during the incident.

Starlink also noticeably responded by posting a brief advisory on its website that its team was investigating a problem that was causing service interruption, but this advisory was posted and then appended without explanation as the network returned online.

Starlink has more than 3 million subscribers around the world and is now an essential part of digital infrastructure, especially in areas with little terrestrial coverage.

Despite prompt recovery of the service, the fact that it was not clear what happened during the outage would cast some doubts in the minds of business customers in the enterprise and all users in the public sector.

In the same year, Starlink was hit by a global outage that left all of its users without internet access for over two hours on four continents.

By the time Michael Nicolls, Starlink’s VP of engineering, added, “the outage was due to failure of key internal software services that operate the core network,” he also stated that the outage was 2.5 hours long.
