The official data reported that the industrial production in Saudi Arabia increased by 8.9 percent in October compared to the previous year, due to increased oil output and widespread growth of mining and manufacturing.
A preliminary report issued by the General Authority of Statistics shows that the growth also indicates an increase in electricity, gas, and steam supply, water, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities.
It also indicated a consistent month-to-month momentum, as the Industrial Production Index increased by 0.3 percent from September.
The most recent industrial statistics describe the continued development towards Vision 2030, the economic transformation plan of Saudi Arabia to diversify development and increase the industrial capacity.
Both oil and non-oil sectors have boosted the economy of the country by 4.8 percent in the third quarter as compared to the third quarter last year.
GASTAT in its news report said that “In October 2025, the sub-index of mining and quarrying activity increased by 11.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.”

The report also indicated that the manufacturing activity sub-index increased 5.5 percent compared to October last year due to an increase of 8 percent in the production of coke and refined petroleum products, and 8.1 percent in the manufacturing of chemicals and chemical products.
On a month-on-month basis, the manufacturing activity sub-index rose by 0.9 percent, with a 1.5 percent increase in the production of coke and refined petroleum products, and 2.7 percent in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products.
The report indicated that “The sub-index of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activity recorded an annual increase of 5.1 percent, and the sub-index of water supply, sewerage, and waste management and remediation activities increased by 8.5 percent.”
It further added that “Based on the month-on-month trend, the sub-index of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activity decreased by 5.8 percent, and the sub-index of water supply, sewerage, and waste management and remediation activities increased by 0.6 percent.”
Earlier this month, the World Bank revised its 2025 economic growth projections of Saudi Arabia to 3.8 percent, compared to the previous figure of 3.2 percent, adding renewed momentum in both oil and non-oil sectors.
Therefore, the International Monetary Fund also increased its economic growth projection in October for the Kingdom to 4 percent for both 2025 and 2026.
