NRTC will make its first significant debut at Gulfood Green 2026, a major step in the development of the group, which used to be a classic fresh produce trader, into a future-ready, sustainability-led agri-food platform.

The shift comes as the group has increased global and regional attention, as the group CEO, Mohammed Alrifai, recently visited the World Economic Forum in Davos along with Ghitha and IHC, as part of the UAE delegation.

NRTC’s presence at both Davos and Gulfood Green comes at a critical moment for the global food industry, as demand is expected to increase by up to 60 percent by 2050, as one-third of food produced worldwide is now lost or wasted, complicating the necessity to have resilient, efficient, and transparent food systems.

NRTC will present its integrated agri-food ecosystem at Gulfood Green, covering fresh produce acquisition, local production, processing, technology, and sustainability.

The group will also incorporate the involvement of major subsidiaries, such as Mirak, Al Hashemeya, Ripe Organic, and Taaza, as well as Mahsool, a local farm project for which NRTC serves as the exclusive commercial arm.

The display will feature NRTC’s fresh fruit and vegetable offerings in the imported and domestic product line, and sustainability-driven efforts to enhance food security, minimize food loss and wastage, and support responsible sourcing.

NRTC will also report on the progress regarding its local production and farm partnership approach with the help of improved traceability provided by the implementation of its Mazraati – Farm to Fork initiative.
Visitors will also understand how digital tools are being implemented within the supply chain to enhance quality assurance, operational efficiency, and end-to-end transparency. Other group brands and ecosystem capabilities will be announced throughout the event.

Alrifai said, “Our first appearance at Gulfood Green reflects a strategic shift from its traditional roots in fresh produce trading towards a more diversified, sustainability-aligned agri-food model. The move signals clear alignment with regional and national priorities around food security and sustainable agriculture, while reinforcing NRTC’s long-term focus on ESG, innovation, and value-driven partnerships at scale.”

He stated, “Our Integrated agri-food model, spanning sourcing, local production, processing, and digital enablement, allows us to improve efficiency, manage risk, and create long-term value across the supply chain. As demand for resilient and responsible food systems accelerates, NRTC is well positioned to scale its ecosystem, deepen strategic partnerships, and deliver sustainable growth for stakeholders.”

Unlike concept-led displays, NRTC Gulfood Green’s appearance will be based on practical, on-ground implementation, highlighting its efforts already in operation within its network in local sourcing, traceability, food loss reduction, and technology integration.
