Picasso, the Figure Exhibition
Picasso, the Figure is a major monographic exhibition of one of the most iconic names in modern art. Tracing the artist’s lifelong preoccupation with the human form, the exhibition features landmark artworks from the Musée National Picasso-Paris, alongside loans from institutions such as the Louvre Museum, Mobilier National, as well as Louvre Abu Dhabi and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and other regional collections, highlighting the artist’s influence on the Arab world.
Featuring more than 130 works, it offers a rare opportunity to stand face to face with iconic portraits while following Picasso’s treatment of figuration from early Cubist experiments to classical portraits, Surrealist works and his bold late paintings, exploring modern art’s enduring themes of love, identity, creation and transformation.
