Dubai Airports confirmed that a limited resumption of flight operations will begin on the evening of 2 March following several days of disruption caused by regional airspace closures linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, marking a cautious return of services at key aviation hubs after major shutdowns.

Dubai’s primary aviation operator said a small number of flights will be permitted to operate from both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) as part of a phased resumption, with operations dependent on regulatory clearances and ongoing assessments of safety and airspace conditions.

The move follows a period in which all flight movements at DXB and DWC were suspended as a precautionary measure when national airspace was temporarily closed amid heightened regional tensions and retaliatory strikes, a disruption that grounded numerous international and domestic services and left thousands of passengers seeking status updates and rebooking options.
Authorities and airlines had earlier advised travellers not to travel to the airports until flight statuses were confirmed, urging passengers to remain in contact with their carriers for the latest scheduling updates and to avoid unnecessary journeys to terminals while normal operations were paused.
With the announcement of the limited resumption, airlines, including Emirates, began preparing to reinstate selected departures and arrivals in coordination with Dubai Airports and aviation regulators, prioritising flights for repatriation, cargo, and essential services on a controlled basis.
Travellers have been specifically advised not to proceed to DXB or DWC unless they have received direct communication from their airline with a confirmed departure time, guidance aimed at managing passenger flow and reducing congestion as services gradually return.
The partial reopening represents a step toward restoring connectivity and easing the impact on passengers and freight movement, while the phased approach allows authorities to monitor system readiness and ensure that safety protocols remain robust before broader schedules are reinstated.
Dubai’s aviation infrastructure, one of the busiest in the world, is gradually adapting to the evolving operational landscape, with further updates expected as conditions stabilise and airspace restrictions are adjusted in consultation with national and international aviation bodies.
Emirates and other carriers are continuing to update travellers through official channels, and passengers are encouraged to check directly with their airline for the most current information about their flights.
