The Federal National Council (FNC) has condemned and denounced the blatant Iranian attacks against the United Arab Emirates, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The FNC has termed the attacks as the flagrant violation of the sovereignty of states, a severe breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and a direct threat to regional security and stability.
In a released statement on Wednesday, the Council emphasized that any attack on the UAE under any pretext is an unacceptable act of aggression, which cannot be justified, passed over, or treated as an ordinary incident, and stated that the protection of the sovereignty of the state, the safety of its national security, and the defense of its land, airspace and territorial waters are red lines and duties that do not admit compromise or experimentation.
The Council has fully supported the brotherly countries that were under attack, reported that the security of the GCC states was indivisible, and that any directive that breached the sovereignty of any of the states was an assault on the security and stability of the region as a whole.
The Council reaffirmed its full uphold on the leadership of the UAE and its institutions and expressed its unconditional support for all actions taken to safeguard the sovereignty of the country, its security, and its national stability.
It lauded the transparent, clear, and firm briefing given by the UAE government, which reaffirmed the categorical rejection of the use of its territory, airspace, or territorial waters in any military action, although it continued to fully and legitimately exercise its right of self-defense under international law.
The FNC also commended the great degree of preparedness and professionalism displayed by the national defensive system and crisis and emergency management authorities that illustrate the strength and cohesion of state institutions in saving lives and facilities.
It indicates that the UAE has been conducting its national security with strategic vision and a sophisticated institutional structure that is capable of handling a range of challenges.
The FNC appreciated the people of the UAE, citizens and residents alike, the level of awareness, commitment, and confidence they have displayed towards the institutions of the country, and their obedience to the instructions in an effort to ensure the safety of everyone.
It confirmed that the inhabitants of the UAE are partners of its development path and part of its social structure, and that the social solidarity observed currently speaks to the power of the national front and integrity of ranks.
The Council also praised all the actions of the economic and financial authorities, both the state and the private ones, to guarantee the persistence of the economic activity and the high level of preparedness to deal with any crisis.
It underlined the fact that these initiatives show the resilient and diversified economy of the UAE, and underlined that this type of attack cannot weaken the economy of the country, the trust of investors, or their place as the regional and international center of stability and growth.
Finally, the Federal National Council underlined that the power of the UAE was not merely its defensive forces, but also its internal solidarity, the population’s faith in its leadership, the integration of its institutions, and its articulate stances.
It emphasized that the UAE is itself a country of reason and wisdom, demanded de-escalation, dialogue, and restraint, and at the same time did not allow any infringement of its sovereignty or national security, pursued all possible methods to preserve its citizens, land, and national properties in the framework of international legitimacy.
