Miral said its expansion of Yas Waterworld on Yas Island will open to visitors on April 4, adding a new set of rides and attractions as part of the park’s ongoing development.
The expansion builds on the waterpark’s “Lost City” theme, extending the narrative of The Legend of the Lost Pearl, and aims to enhance the overall guest experience with new immersive offerings.
The development will introduce eight new slides, two jumping platforms, and a leisure pool, bringing the park’s total number of attractions to more than 70.
Among the key additions is Matamir’s Drop, billed as the UAE’s tallest waterslide, featuring a drop from over 40 metres and a 233-metre ride.
Other highlights include Sahel Matamir, a free-fall tube racer designed to deliver high-speed, zero-gravity thrills, and Matamir Loop, a body slide focused on rapid descents.
The expansion also features Matamir Twist – Matamir Lights, which combines fast-paced drops with lighting effects, and Matamir Splash, a competitive mat racer where riders race side by side.
In addition to thrill rides, the expansion introduces leisure-focused attractions, including Sarab, a family-friendly pool designed for relaxation, and Al Afda, which lets guests jump into the water from elevated platforms.
The additions are designed to broaden the park’s appeal, catering to both thrill-seekers and families.

“The expansion of Yas Waterworld marks an important milestone in our commitment to delivering world-class entertainment experiences on Yas Island,” said Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer at Miral.
“With eleven new slides and attractions, we are enhancing the park’s offering with fresh thrills and immersive adventures for guests of all ages,” he added.
The expansion is part of broader efforts to position Yas Island as a leading global entertainment destination, with continued investment in theme parks and leisure infrastructure.
Yas Waterworld remains one of the island’s key attractions, drawing both regional and international visitors.
The latest expansion of Yas Waterworld underscores Abu Dhabi’s push to strengthen its tourism and entertainment sector. With new rides and enhanced experiences, the park is set to offer a broader mix of adventure and leisure when it opens to visitors in April.
