Huawei has unveiled its latest compact tablet, the MatePad Mini, in the UAE, opening pre-orders for what it positions as a powerful yet highly portable device aimed at everyday productivity and creativity.
The launch marks Huawei’s push to redefine the small-tablet segment, combining a lightweight design with premium features. The MatePad Mini comes with an 8.8-inch display housed in a slim 5.1 mm body and weighs just 255 grams, making it one of the most compact devices in its category.
Despite its size, the tablet is designed to deliver a high-end experience. It features an OLED FullView display with ultra-narrow bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio, along with peak brightness of 1800 nits. An optional PaperMatte Display significantly reduces glare, offering a more comfortable reading and viewing experience, particularly during extended use.

Huawei is also positioning the device as a productivity tool. Paired with the M-Pencil Pro, the MatePad Mini enables a paper-like writing experience, supported by native apps such as Huawei Notes and GoPaint, allowing users to transition seamlessly between reading, note-taking, and creative work.
Under the hood, the tablet is equipped with a 6400 mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging, ensuring it can handle extended usage without frequent interruptions. It also includes a fingerprint-enabled power button for secure access and a 32 MP front camera for video calls and virtual meetings.
Priced from AED 1,699, the MatePad Mini is now available for pre-order across the UAE. As part of the launch offer, customers will receive bundled accessories, including a Smart Cover, Smart Pen, and access to productivity and creativity apps.
The device reflects Huawei’s broader strategy of delivering compact yet capable devices that cater to professionals, students and content creators looking for mobility without compromising on performance.
