The Abu Dhabi government has unveiled its Digital Strategy 2025-2027, aiming to establish the world’s first fully artificial intelligence-powered government by 2027.

Spearheaded by the Department of Government Enablement (DGE) in collaboration with other government entities, the initiative will allocate $3.5 billion to enhance digital infrastructure, fully automate government processes, and implement sovereign cloud computing across operations.

Projected to add over $6.54 billion to Abu Dhabi’s economy by 2027 and create more than 5,000 jobs to support Emiratisation, the strategy emphasizes citizen empowerment through the AI for All program, which offers AI training. It will introduce over 200 AI-driven solutions to improve government services, streamline operations through a unified enterprise resource planning platform, and strengthen cybersecurity frameworks.

“It also includes developing a unified digital enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, streamlining processes and enhancing productivity and efficiency,” the Abu Dhabi Media Office said in a statement on Tuesday (January 21).

Empowering Citizens Through AI Initiatives

As part of its AI for All program, the Abu Dhabi government announced plans to invest in training and equipping its citizens with skills in AI applications. Additionally, the government aims to deploy over 200 cutting-edge AI solutions to enhance various government services.

Ahmed Hisham Al Kuttab, Chairman of the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE), said, “The Abu Dhabi Government Digital Strategy 2025- 27 reflects our leadership’s vision of being an AI-native government, seamlessly integrating AI across all government systems for a future that is proactive, agile and fully technology-enabled.”

He added, “By incorporating AI, cloud technologies, and data-driven insights into our government’s DNA, we will transform public service delivery, optimize government operations, and drive sustainable economic growth.”

UAE Accelerates AI-Driven Transformation

Recent advancements, including the launch of TAMM 3.0 and the Abu Dhabi Programme for Effortless Customer Experience, are driving the adoption of futuristic digital solutions powered by AI and data analytics.

Abu Dhabi’s leadership in digital governance is further strengthened through partnerships with institutions like the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence for skill development, the Advanced Technology Research Council for large language model research, and technology firm G42 for AI infrastructure.

The UAE government is accelerating its efforts to harness emerging technologies amid the rapid evolution of AI.
