Brighton made an early statement, with Ferdi Kadioglu finding the net in just the 3rd minute to give the hosts a dream start. The momentum carried through the game, with Jack Hinshelwood doubling the lead in the second half before Danny Welbeck sealed the result deep into stoppage time.
The victory lifts Brighton to sixth place with 50 points, keeping them firmly in contention for a UEFA Champions League spot for the 2026–27 season. Chelsea, meanwhile, remains seventh on 48 points, slipping further behind in the race for European qualification.
At the top of the table, Arsenal FC continues to lead the standings with 70 points, closely followed by Manchester City, who trail by three points with a game in hand. Manchester United sit third on 58 points, level with Aston Villa, while Liverpool FC occupies fifth place with 55 points.
