The UAE’s thriving media and creative industry received high praise from Disney+ MENA’s Director, Tamim Fares, during the opening day of the Arab Media Summit 2025, held in Dubai from May 26–28. Fares described the Emirates as a “fertile ground for entertainment and media growth,” acknowledging its pivotal role in transforming the regional media landscape.
At the summit, Fares highlighted Disney’s robust expansion strategy in the UAE, which spans digital platforms, television channels, entertainment retail, and themed attractions. He noted that Disney is proud to be part of the country’s rapidly evolving media sector, reflecting the company’s increasing regional investments and plans.
“Participating in the Arab Media Summit offers a valuable opportunity to witness these transformations firsthand,” Fares told the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Disney+ has made strategic inroads into the UAE market through key partnerships to boost its footprint and subscriber numbers. Notable collaborations include tie-ups with telecom leader du and Abu Dhabi Media and content partnerships with affiliated channels like National Geographic, which has garnered a significant regional audience.
According to Fares, one of the most groundbreaking developments is the upcoming Disneyland Abu Dhabi project. The theme park, currently under development by Miral, marks a major milestone for Disney in the Middle East and underscores the company’s long-term commitment to the UAE.
“What has been achieved so far is merely the beginning,” Fares stated, emphasizing a future full of opportunity and innovation. He added that Disney sees the UAE as a rapidly growing market and an ambitious nation with a clear vision for its future.
With Disney+, retail ventures, media alliances, and the eagerly anticipated Disneyland Abu Dhabi, the company continues to deepen its roots in what Fares described as a dynamic and promising market.
