The UAE Ministry of Finance has won the prestigious Innovating for Impact Award in the category of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the financial sector at the AI for Good Summit 2025, held at the Geneva International Conference Centre. Organised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in collaboration with several UN agencies, the summit serves as the United Nations’ flagship platform for AI and its role in sustainable development.
The award recognised the Ministry’s pioneering efforts in integrating advanced AI systems into critical financial functions, including fraud detection, risk assessment, algorithmic trading, and AI-powered customer service. These innovations have bolstered operational efficiency, enhanced transparency, and significantly supported the UAE’s sustainable development goals.
The Ministry’s approach reflects a broader national strategy aimed at embedding emerging technologies into the core of public governance. Central to this transformation is the Ministry’s investment in predictive analytics tools and innovative infrastructure that enable real-time monitoring of economic and financial indicators, most notably through an AI-powered budget management system.
This global recognition underscores the UAE’s leadership in AI-driven governance and its vision for building a balanced, data-driven financial ecosystem aligned with its long-term strategy for the next 50 years. The Ministry has also committed to strengthening its international partnerships to exchange best practices, scale innovation, and promote a resilient and future-ready government finance model.
The AI for Good Global Summit is supported by 47 UN agencies and the Government of Switzerland, focusing on identifying and scaling AI applications that can accelerate the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The summit brings together governments, industry leaders, and technology experts to develop international standards and promote responsible innovation.
