Emirates and OpenAI have formed a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating AI adoption and driving innovation across the airline.
The collaboration includes organisation-wide integration of ChatGPT Enterprise, supported by customised AI literacy programmes, technical exploration, and executive-level strategic alignment to embed AI capabilities throughout the company.
“We see enormous potential for AI technology to support our business requirements, helping us tackle complex commercial challenges, strengthening our operations, and enhancing the customer experience. Closely working with OpenAI will make our technology investments both strategic and scalable, enabling us to deliver enhanced value to our employees and customers, fundamentally changing how we innovate, deliver value, and maintain our competitive edge in the industry,” said Ali Serdar Yakut, Executive Vice President IT.
Rod Solaimani, Regional Director, MENA & Central Asia at OpenAI, said, “Emirates Group has laid out a bold vision for how AI can transform the future of aviation. With this collaboration, we’re proud to help them bring that vision to life, embedding intelligence across their operations, empowering teams with powerful new tools, and reimagining the travel experience for millions of customers.”
As part of the partnership, Emirates and OpenAI will explore opportunities to introduce practical AI use cases, build an internal network of AI champions, and establish an AI Centre of Excellence.
The collaboration will pinpoint priority areas for enhancing and expanding AI capabilities across the organisation, covering essential skills, processes, and technologies needed to propel Emirates into the next era.
Emirates will also gain early access to advanced AI research and emerging innovations, in addition to opportunities for joint participation in government-driven innovation initiatives and accelerator programmes.
Furthermore, Emirates and OpenAI will hold dedicated leadership sessions to examine real-world applications, build support for AI-driven initiatives, and provide leaders with insight into OpenAI’s product roadmap for long-term planning.
Technology teams from both organisations will work closely to streamline the integration of OpenAI’s models, establish best practices for rapid prototyping and deployment, and create sandbox environments to speed up experimentation across a variety of generative AI use cases.
