Recently, the UAE Fuel Price Committee has declared the official petrol and diesel prices of December 2025, showing significant expansion in the whole categories.
This announcement is in conjunction with the monthly fuel price review of the committee, which is based on the trends of the global oil market and on economic factors in the country.
The new prices of December 2025 are as follows: Super 98: AED2.70 per liter, compared to AED2.63 per liter in November. Special 95: AED2.58 per liter, compared to AED2.51 per liter in November. E-Plus 91: AED2.51 per liter, compared to AED2.44 per liter in November. Diesel: AED2.85 per liter, compared to AED2.67 per liter in November.
The UAE adjusts the price of petrol and diesel every month to comply with world oil markets. The oil prices remained volatile in November, influenced by a number of economic, geopolitical, and market factors.
Although it increased by 1 percent in the last week of November, oil prices managed to fall for the fourth straight month, their longest losing streak since 2023, amid expectations for higher global supply weighed on prices.
The rise in fuel prices in December is an indication of a reversal to higher rates following a short-lived period. Prices of all types of petrol and diesel slightly decreased in November compared to in October, when Super 98 had reached AED2.77.
During 2025, the highest petrol prices in the UAE were in February, when Super 98 rose to AED2.74, and the lowest price was in April, which was AED2.57. Such changes highlight the current volatility that is determined by the situation on the global market.
Rates have now started to go up to similar levels in July and September, as Super 98 is currently AED2.70 per liter compared to December.
The change in the monthly price is a direct consequence of the move by the UAE, which took place in August 2015, to open up the fuel prices. The UAE government had been subsidizing the petrol prices extensively before this ruling.
