The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has recently unveiled Phase 3 sales of Ajwan Khorfakkan residences, which saw the opening of two new residential towers, Layan and Juman, as the project gains traction as an ideal coastal destination on the East Coast of the UAE.
The launch was also characterized by the appointment of the primary contractor, Darwish Engineering Emirates, to spearhead the development.
The company in the UAE will supervise the building of the entire stages of Ajwan Khorfakkan residences, based on its vast experience in large-scale residential projects.
Chief Real Estate Officer at Shurooq, Yousif Ahmed Al Mutawa, remarked that the launch is one of the major milestones of the project and will aid in the vision of Shurooq of turning Khorfakkan into one of the top coastal destinations.
He highlighted that Layan and Juman blend contemporary design with the natural environment of the place and provide a solid investment grounded on quality infrastructure, services, and connectivity.
General Manager of Darwish Engineering Emirates, Baha Nahawi, stated that the company feels honored to work on the project and that this project is a manifestation of the ambitious vision of Sharjah on the East Coast that will be implemented to the highest quality standards.
Ajwan Khorfakkan residences cover a total of 89,100 square metres and consist of six residential high-rise buildings containing 185 apartments facing the Gulf of Oman or the mountainous landscape of Khorfakkan.
Therefore, phase 3 will have two, three, and four-bedroom apartments, as well as high-end three and four-bedroom duplexes. Layan grants direct access to the boardwalk and retail section of the seafront, and Juman grants access to waterfront promenades and marinas.
The master-planned development will include resort-like facilities such as a personal marina, beach access, swimming pools, fitness centers, landscaped areas, and a combination of retail and food and beverage establishments, aimed at the creation of a lively community lifestyle.
The new launch is based on the increasing demand for beachfront into the region, and after the strong sales of Phases 1 and 2, it follows. The present buildings, such as Al Joon, Saahil, Mawj, and Ghadeer, are still in demand among the end-users and investors.
Shurooq indicated that the increasing interest in Ajwan Khorfakkan is an indicator of good performance in the real estate sector of Sharjah, with property transactions in the emirate amounting to AED44.3 billion during the first quarter of the year 2025, which is 58.3 percent higher than that of the same period in 2024.
Ajwan Khorfakkan homes are also part of the larger Shurooq real estate group that includes Maryam Island and Sharjah Sustainable City, and remain a model of lifestyle-oriented and sustainable living in the emirate.
