More than 300,000 workers took part in New Year 2026 celebrations organised especially for them at over 30 locations nationwide. Held under the theme “With You and Through You, We Step into the New Year,” the events recognised workers’ contributions and celebrated the start of the new year.
The programme featured a wide range of interactive and competitive activities, prize draws with valuable rewards including a car, travel tickets, live entertainment, traditional folk performances, and the distribution of gifts to workers at various venues.
The celebrations were organised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) in collaboration with several federal and local government partners. These included the Ministry of Interior; the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICA); the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah Police; municipalities across the UAE; Abu Dhabi Ports Group; and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai).
Additional partners supporting the events included the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority; the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai; the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai; the Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC); Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA); the Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah; National Ambulance; Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services; Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ); and Al Ihsan Charity Association.
Alongside the Ministry’s programme, several companies held their own celebrations, demonstrating strong social responsibility and commitment to worker welfare and engagement. Participating companies included Sobha Constructions, Granada Europe Construction LLC, Millionaire Building Contracting, Advanced Metal Works, Luxury Homes Real Estate, Al Mehwar Engineering Consultancy, DULSCO Group, and Innovo Build LLC.
MoHRE follows a sustainable approach in celebrating and honouring workers during public holidays and special occasions, working closely with public and private sector partners. These initiatives aim to promote happiness and improve overall well-being, including quality of life, psychological and social stability, and a sense of belonging, while motivating workers by recognising their role in national development.
The New Year celebrations were sponsored by 10 major companies. DAMAC and Aldar Properties participated as Diamond Sponsors; The Insurance Pool and Sobha Realty as Platinum Sponsors; du, Emarat, Electronic Document Centre, National Marine Dredging Company, and Al Ansari Exchange as Gold Sponsors; and AW Rostamani Group as a Silver Sponsor.
