The Transport Authority in Ajman hosted the Journey of Hope forum for families of People of Determination with autism as part of the Year of the Family initiatives, in collaboration with the Emirates Autism Society and other relevant organisations.
The forum offered families a platform to share their experiences and challenges, with discussions centred on developing practical recommendations to enhance transport services for People of Determination in the emirate.
This initiative is part of the authority’s ongoing efforts to improve inclusive transport services and strengthen collaboration with partners to enhance quality of life.
Fatima Ghaleb Al Mohseni, Head of the Journey of Hope Initiative Team, stated that organising the forum reflects the authority’s social responsibility and commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives.
She highlighted that the authority prioritises support for all segments of society and, through cooperation with relevant entities, aims to develop practical solutions and initiatives that address the needs of People of Determination and elevate the quality of services provided to them.
Mohammed Abdullah Al Kaabi, Board Member of the Emirates Autism Society, noted that the event emphasised the importance of involving families in shaping services, particularly in transport and mobility. He added that accessible services foster independence and social inclusion while alleviating pressures on families.
The authority reported that beneficiaries of its transport service for People of Determination increased by 7.5 percent in 2025, reaching 7,383, compared with 6,868 in 2024.
