The Dubai Press Club (DPC), organiser of the Arab Media Summit, has announced a strategic partnership with the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), appointing the institution as the Academic Partner for the Summit’s 2026 edition.

The announcement comes as UAEU celebrates its Golden Jubilee, marking 50 years since its establishment.

The Arab Media Summit will take place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The event is scheduled from 31 March to 2 April 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

The partnership underscores the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing the transformation of the media sector and strengthening ties between academia and media organisations. It also reinforces Dubai’s standing as a regional and global centre for media dialogue, industry development, and forward-looking digital trends. Through the collaboration, the Summit’s academic and knowledge dimensions will be enriched by UAEU’s research expertise, academic programmes, and talent development initiatives, while offering students and faculty direct engagement with leading global media figures and decision-makers.

Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Chancellor of UAEU, said the university’s support for the Summit reflects its national mission and enduring commitment to strengthening Arab media as a driver of knowledge, cultural dialogue, and social awareness. He noted that the futures of media and education are increasingly interconnected, with universities playing a critical role not only in educating students but also in cultivating critical thinkers and future media leaders capable of navigating a rapidly evolving global information landscape.

He added that UAEU’s participation will highlight its expanding contributions to digital media research, the application of artificial intelligence in mass communication, and the development of a new generation of media professionals prepared for the digital age.

Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice Chairperson and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, congratulated UAEU on its Golden Jubilee, describing it as a landmark achievement reflecting five decades of dedication to nurturing talent, advancing knowledge, and strengthening higher education in the UAE.

She said the partnership adds significant value to the Summit and showcases the effectiveness of collaboration among national institutions working to advance media growth and talent development. She emphasised that media evolution is increasingly intertwined with education, research, and advanced skills development, particularly as the sector undergoes rapid transformation driven by digitalisation, artificial intelligence, and accelerated content innovation.

As part of its involvement, UAEU will present a comprehensive knowledge programme featuring dialogue sessions, panel discussions, and specialised training workshops. An interactive platform will also facilitate the exchange of expertise and discussions among academics, students, and media professionals.

The partnership aligns with broader national efforts to deepen integration between higher education and the media sector, support the development of a sustainable knowledge economy, and prepare a new generation of media professionals equipped with advanced skills, research expertise, and strong professional values.
