Ramadan – the month of giving and reflection – is fast approaching and Media One Hotel is giving back to the community by providing nutritious food and refreshing drinks throughout the Holy Month with their Ramadan Sharing Fridge. For the eighth year in a row, Media One Hotel’s Ramadan Sharing Fridge is an initiative by Media One Cares, aiming to help blue collar workers break their fast after a day of hard work in the surrounding communities. The fridge provides them with something small to eat until they have a proper meal during the month of Ramadan. Last year, the hotel successfully donates 8,636 meals from their Ramadan Fridge. As always, Media One Hotel will set up the fridge at the tower parking entrance throughout Ramadan. To ensure that the fridge is stocked every day, they have recruited their tenants and the local community to sponsor the food and drinks that go into the fridge.
Media One Hotel aims to continue fostering connections with the surrounding community, and encourages those working in the building to join them in this initiative. Tenants and businesses are encouraged to sponsor for a day by donating dried fruit, yogurt, biscuits in sealed packaging, as well as drinks, including small bottles of water, Laban, and soft drinks, in accordance with the Dubai Municipality guidelines. Cooked food cannot be stocked due to the Dubai Municipality regulations. To make them easier to distribute, donations are encouraged to be provided in pre-packed sustainable bags (plastic is highly discouraged), aligning with the property’s sustainability initiative to eliminate single-use plastic containers and utensils.
With these generous donations, Media One Hotel can ensure workers of the community can break their fast in a timely and nutritious manner during the holy month.
