H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Holds Talks With U.S. President’s Arab And African Affairs Advisor In Washington

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met with Massad Boulos, US President’s Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, during his working visit to Washington, D.C.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Massad Boulos reviewed the strategic ties between the two nations and explored ways to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors in support of shared interests and to bolster regional and international security and stability.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the depth and breadth of the strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, emphasizing the importance of building on existing collaborations and expanding cooperation in priority areas to advance sustainable development in both countries.

The two sides also discussed enhancing the UAE-US partnership across the African continent and intensifying joint coordination to support development and stability initiatives, helping to meet the aspirations of African peoples for growth and prosperity.

In this context, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the need to ensure alignment between the development initiatives of the two countries and to strengthen cooperation with regional and international partners to advance sustainable development and promote peace and stability in Africa.

The talks further addressed the tragic developments of the civil war in Sudan, underscoring the urgency of achieving an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian assistance to civilians to ease their suffering.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah commended the leadership efforts of President Donald Trump to prevent Sudan from sliding into deeper extremism, division, and a worsening humanitarian crisis. He also expressed appreciation to the United States for hosting the humanitarian conference and the Quad meeting, describing them as important steps to sustain international engagement amid the prolonged conflict and its severe humanitarian consequences.

He further praised Massad Boulos for his close attention to the Sudan file and his role in supporting efforts to secure a ceasefire, strengthen humanitarian response mechanisms, protect civilians, advance the political process, and facilitate the establishment of an independent civilian government.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s firm commitment to continued cooperation with the United States and regional and international partners to promote dialogue, de-escalation, and lasting political solutions that contribute to security and development for the peoples of the region and beyond.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State; and Yousef Al Manea Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.
