The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure is overseeing the execution of a series of critical federal projects across roads, buildings, and services sectors, as part of its ongoing initiatives to develop the national infrastructure system, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen readiness to support economic and population growth. These efforts also aim to improve quality of life across all Emirates, in line with the UAE leadership’s forward-looking vision.

In this context, Eng. Mohammed Al Mansoori, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at the Ministry, reviewed progress on several federal projects to ensure compliance with approved timelines and accelerate implementation in line with the highest adopted standards.

Key projects under the Ministry’s supervision include the Emirates Road Enhancement Project; construction and completion of the Dibba Al Fujairah Court and Public Prosecution building; the Public Health Building at Dibba Al Hisn Health Centre; and multiple dams and water channels in the Eastern Region. These initiatives are part of an integrated framework aimed at improving federal infrastructure efficiency and achieving top levels of sustainability and quality.

The Emirates Road Enhancement Project is a major strategic initiative within the federal road network, playing a vital role in supporting traffic flow, improving mobility, and increasing the efficiency of goods and services transportation.

The project involves upgrading Interchange No. (7) with six directional bridges totaling 12.6 kilometres and a capacity of up to 13,200 vehicles per hour, along with 3.4 kilometres of collector roads. The total cost is estimated at AED750 million. Work began in September 2025 and is scheduled over two years. Upon completion, the project is expected to reduce travel time by up to 45 percent and significantly ease congestion.

The plan also includes widening Emirates Road from three to five lanes in each direction over a 25-kilometre stretch, increasing capacity to roughly 9,000 vehicles per hour, a 65 percent improvement.

The Dibba Al Fujairah Court and Public Prosecution project is part of efforts to develop judicial infrastructure and enhance service quality, following best practices and approved standards. The project reflects the UAE’s commitment to modern, sustainable government buildings with smart systems that improve energy and water efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and boost operational performance.

The Public Health Building at Dibba Al Hisn Health Centre is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen federal healthcare facilities, ensuring they are ready to provide integrated services that meet community needs. The project integrates smart solutions and advanced digital technologies to improve indoor environmental quality, enhance energy and water efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions, aligning with national priorities for sustainable and high-efficiency healthcare infrastructure.

Several dams and water channels in the Eastern Region are being constructed using locally sourced materials, reducing environmental impact and lowering carbon footprint while increasing the use of local resources by around 70 percent. These projects incorporate natural and sustainable drainage solutions to minimize operational and maintenance demands and support the long-term sustainability of water resources.

Eng. Mohammed Al Mansoori affirmed that the Ministry’s infrastructure projects are a cornerstone in supporting the UAE’s competitiveness and preparing federal infrastructure for future demands.

He said, “Infrastructure projects are implemented under a comprehensive vision grounded in proactive planning and the adoption of the highest global specifications and standards in design and execution. This ensures readiness to accommodate urban expansion and population growth, while delivering sustainable developmental impact that enhances quality of life and supports the national economy.”
