DP World Foundation has declared the growth of its yearly “Ramadan of Giving” programme, and this is the biggest programme to date, which signifies its long-term commitment to food support, community development, and the welfare of employees.

In order to reach blue-collar and maritime workers near their places of work and residence, this year the foundation is organizing five Iftar tents in strategic locations.

Three tents will function in Jebel Ali Free Zone (New West Accommodation, South Accommodation, and New East Accommodation), while two will be based in Port Rashid, one at Dubai Maritime City and another at Dubai Customs Headquarters.

Similarly, the foundation will allocate about 15,000 Iftar meals a day, which will reach about 450,000 meals in total during the holy month.

This is a substantial rise to the 360,000 meals and four tent locations compared to last year, highlighting the expanding involvement of the foundation and the cumulative influence over the years.

A total contribution of AED5 million has been allocated towards organising and delivering the Ramadan Iftar tents across Dubai.

Besides its Iftar activities, DP World Foundation is also a strategic sponsor of the “Koun Bikhair” of Dubai charity campaign during Ramadan, which is sponsored to the tune of AED1 million to aid the distribution of on-the-go Iftar boxes around the city. The project focuses on people who might be on the road or unable to break their fast at the right time.

Nasser Abdulla, Vice Chairman and CEO of DP World Foundation, said, “Our legacy is rooted in generosity and shared responsibility, and each year we strive to build on that foundation. During Ramadan, we are expanding our reach to support more workers and communities in Dubai, ensuring they can break their fast with dignity and ease.”
