At a grand dinner hosted by the Emir of Qatar in honour of U.S. President Donald Trump, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani was among the high-profile guests. The event was held at the Lusail Palace in Doha, marking the second stop on Trump’s Middle East tour, which includes visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, which is today.

In clips that have surfaced online, Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, was seen greeting Trump and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. As per a Washington Post report, Trump and the Emir stood in a formal receiving line for nearly an hour, welcoming distinguished attendees, including Ambani.

The industrialist was filmed engaging in a brief conversation with Trump before proceeding inside, where he was also seen exchanging pleasantries and sharing a light moment with U.S. Secretary of Commerce Steve Lutnick.

This marks Mukesh Ambani’s second known meeting with Donald Trump since his presidency began. He and his wife, Nita Ambani, had previously attended a pre-inauguration dinner in the U.S. in January 2017.

The Lusail Palace dinner was a lavish affair, filled with the scent of incense and the sounds of traditional drums and singing as guests arrived. Notably, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk was also present at the event. According to The Washington Post, Musk used the “chat and cut” technique to bypass a portion of the receiving line. He was seen conversing with several guests, including Antonio Gracias, one of his close associates.

Other prominent figures in attendance included Newsmax founder Chris Ruddy and Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman.

During the dinner, Trump urged Qatar to leverage its diplomatic ties with Iran to help facilitate a new agreement aimed at curbing Tehran’s advancing nuclear program. This appeal comes amid his broader regional tour focused on reinforcing ties with Gulf allies and addressing key geopolitical challenges.
