The organising committee of the Dubai Gold Cup Polo Tournament 2026 has announced that six teams will compete in the 17th edition of the Dubai Gold Cup, scheduled to take place from 30 January to 14 February at the Al Habtoor Polo and Equestrian Resort, featuring a 20-goal handicap.

The participating teams have been split into two groups. Group One includes Al Habtoor, winners of the Dubai Silver Cup 2026, alongside Bangash and Dubai Wolves. Group Two comprises UAE, Ghantoot, and Jehangiri.

The tournament will kick off with a round-robin stage, during which each team will play three matches against teams from the opposite group. The top four teams in the standings will advance to the semifinals, with the first-placed team facing the fourth and the second playing the third. The winners of the semifinals will meet in the final.

The announcement was made during a press conference held today at the tournament venue to conduct the official draw. The draw resulted in an opening match between Team UAE, led by H.H. Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the Bangash Team, captained by Haider Bangash.

Saeed bin Drai praised the collective efforts that have contributed to the successful organisation of the Dubai Gold Cup Polo and its progression to a 17th edition, highlighting that the high level of preparation and organisation reflects strong collaboration among all involved parties.

He added that the tournament represents a unified, integrated approach, evident in its outstanding organisational and technical standards that align with international benchmarks.

Issa Sharif Al Marzouqi also noted that the launch of the Dubai Gold Cup Polo 2026 underscores Dubai’s leading role in hosting major international sporting events, expressing pride in partnering with the organising entities to deliver an event of such stature.
